Amber has been treasured since Antiquity and visitors from abroad are often surprised to learn that amber is Denmark’s national gemstone. Amber is not just a beautiful gemstone, it is also a unique window to a bygone era because of amber’s ability to preserve insects and plants, which became trapped in the sticky resin millions of years ago.
House of Amber runs Copenhagen Amber Museum and 3 exclusive jewellery shops at downtown locations in Copenhagen. The museum and the associated shop are located in Kanneworffs House dating back to 1606, making it one of the oldest buildings in Copenhagen.
In all of the shops you will find amber jewellery of the finest quality, carefully selected and uniquely designed and combined with gold, silver and diamonds.
The company was founded in 1933 by the Dane Einer Fehrn, and through several generations House of Amber has specialized and refined its skills in manufacturing the finest amber jewellery in contemporary designs.
Museum and shops are open 7 days a week.
